Bernice Helvy

Bernice Helvy, 91 of Belleview, FL, passed away January 18, 2024 at Cates House Hospice in Ocala, FL. Bernice was born on November 11, 1932 in Laurenburg, North Carolina, to the late Herbert and Cattie May (Lowery) Strickland. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jeannie May Callahan of Ocala and B.J. Helvy; four grandchildren: Gina, Donny, Darrell and Christopher; 17 grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Frances Strickland. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, George Helvy in 2015.
Celebration of Life service for Bernice will be conducted on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, with Pastor Kevin Ballard of the Calvary Chapel Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time.
