Maurice Fortin

Maurice J. Fortin, 91, of Inverness, FL passed away January 11, 2024, at Crystal River Health & Rehab. He was born in Pawtucket, RI on April 23, 1932, to the late Romeo and Rosanna (Tremblay) Fortin. Maurice served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He arrived in this area in 1984 coming from Pinellas Park, FL, and was the owner of a roofing company. Maurice was Catholic by faith, and was a member of the VFW Post 4337, Inverness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese Orr Fortin in 2023, 3 brothers, Paul, Henry, and Phillip Fortin, 2 sisters, Georgette Baker and Jeanne Pelissey, a daughter Pamela Fortin, and his ex-wife Patricia Fortin. He is survived by his children Ronald Fortin, Daniel Fortin, and Karen Fortin, of St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park, and sister Diana Geier of Wilmington, DE; stepdaughter Francine Dale; and step-granddaughters Alicina Dale, Cynthia Orr. and Sierra Orr. Maurice’s urn will be laid to rest with military honors on Tuesday, January 30 at 11:00 am at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fl. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, is assisting the family.
