Nancy Carroll Welshans, age 84, passed away December 19, 2023 at her Floral City home under the loving care of her family.
Nancy was born in Huffman, AR on October 31, 1939 to the late William and Dorothy (Webster) Carvin and came to this area in 2001 from Valley Bend, WV. She was a bookkeeper before retirement and a devout member of the Covenant Church of God in Floral City.
Left to cherish her memory are 4 siblings: James Carvin of Hernando; Dorothy Telshaw of Warren, OH; Brenda Shelton of Grass Valley, CA; Patricia (John) Lord of Floral City; 4 stepchildren: Gary Welshans, Inverness; David Welshans, McElhatten, PA; Rev. Eric Welshans, Floral City; Brian Welshans, Williamsport, PA; 5 grandchildren; Ryan Welshans, Gary Russell, Megan Gaulle, Evan Welshans and Dillon Welshans 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that will miss her greatly.
Nancy was an accomplished seamstress, loved to do crafts, play games, puzzles and crochet. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. Her relationship with the Lord was the basis of her life. She was strong willed, yet kind. She was hardheaded, yet understanding. She was softhearted, yet practical. She had a true love for others and never withheld her generosity. Many looked to her for guidance and encouragement. She will be missed by many.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Eric “Rick” Welshans officiating. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
