Margaret J Stidd

Margaret “Marge” Justina Stidd, of Homosassa, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023 under Hospice care in Lecanto. She was 82. Born in Decatur, Ill to Lewis and Alice Shaw, Marge was raised partly in Citrus County and partly in Decatur, due to her father’s occupation. She settled down in Crystal River after marrying Dean Hopkins and raised a family while developing a business together. After reconnecting with her childhood friend David Stidd, she re-married and shared a life together until he passed away.

Marge proudly worked at Publix for over to two decades, and was known for her big bear hugs, vibrant smile that was contagious and her affinity for greeting everyone with the phrase “Hello Youngin'”. Marge was an champion golfer with over 20 hole’s in one, was an active Church member at the First United Methodist Church in Homosassa and loving companion to Gary Mosley.

Marge was preceded in death by her Father and Mother. She is survived by her daughter Justina Hopkins and her wife Pam of Orlando; her son Lewis Hopkins of New York; her brother Ronald Shaw of Homosassa; her companion Gary Moseley of Homosassa; her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; her sisterhood of angels including Vickie, Pat, Dolly, Susan, Judy, Pauline and Char; and her four grand-puppies Bailey, Olivia, Lexi, and Lacy. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory 3075 S. Florida AVE Inverness, FL 34450.
A celebration of life is planned at the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa, 8831 West Bradshaw Street, on December 27th at 11am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa.
