Frederick A Smail

Frederick A. Smail, 71, of Floral City died Sunday December 3, 2023 under Hospice care in Lecanto, FL. Fred has been in this area for over 20 years. He also grew up in Citrus County as a child, after moving down from Sharon, PA with his family. He served in the US Army for a total of about nine years before being honorably discharged for the second time. Following his military career, he worked as a supervisor of the Horace Glass Company. He loved fishing, boating, and he was a master griller. Fred leaves behind his sons Fred “Freddy” Smail, Jr. of Floral City, James Smail of North Carolina, and Timothy Smail of Georgia; his daughters Dorothy Clark (Dennis) of Valrico and April Evans (Kevin) of Inverness; his brother Byron Smail of Floral City; his sisters Barbara Ratliff of Valrico and Mary Taylor of Tennessee; and two beautiful granddaughters. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. His urn will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Private Cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E.
