James Joseph Whitlock, 86, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away November 20, 2023 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 20, 1937 to the late Jesse and Elizabeth (Wilson) Whitlock. James was a Captain for the Merchant Marines, and arrived in this area in 1977 coming from Chicago. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. James was a boat captain on the Great Lakes for Hannah Marine Corp. in Chicago, and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Whitlock in 2012. Survivors include his sons James J. Whitlock, Jr. of Wauwatosa, WI, and Michael A. Whitlock of Beverly Hills, FL; and 5 grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
