Willie Odum Kelly, Sr. died peacefully on Sun. Oct. 15, 2023 at his home in Hernando. He was 93. Willie was born in Leoma, TN, and worked many years in maintenance for the Nashville Metro School System. He and his late wife moved here in 1985 from Nashville, TN. They were both active members of Trinity Baptist Church in Inverness. He was a wood carver, and even won awards for his craftsmanship. Willie was a jokester and was loved by everyone. He was a man of God and he loved his family.
Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Dorothy Kelly; sons David and Willie, Jr.; and brother Robert Kelly. Those left behind to cherish his memory are sons Leon, Roger, and Jeff Kelly; daughter Valerie Camacho; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. A celebration of life was held at the Trinity Baptist Church of Inverness with Pastor Jerry Bloxton officiating . Interment will be private at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
