Veronica L. (Ronnie) Meyer. On September 14th, 2023, Veronica’s Lord & Savior called her home to spend eternity with him. Veronica is survived by her husband Ernest A. (Ernie) Meyer V, son Ernest A. (Ernie) Meyer VI and his wife (Amanda). Two sisters Dee Mazerski, Baltimore and Linda Myers (Jack), Delaware and brother Sonny Schultz (Baltimore). She was predeceased by mother Ruth Louise Kathary, her father William Thomas Grey, and two sisters, Patty Brylie Balto & Cindy Morgan Balto.
Veronica and her husband came to Citrus County in 1979 from Largo, FL. Veronica was full of life and love and never feared any challenges and did everything with that beautiful laugh & Smile. She had to be busy and had to serve others, she truly had a servant’s heart. She was a member of the Floral City PTO, a soccer mom, 4-H Club leader, Superintendent of Rabbits & Poultry for the Citrus County Fair Association. Then to help our family income she switched gears to what I believed was her true calling, but it took her hard work to get her there. She worked in many convenience stores in Citrus County while getting her GED, then her state license for substitute teacher and finally ending up at her true calling health care in Citrus County. First came her HHA license which was for different home health agencies, nursing homes, and activity director at River Oaks. She obtained her CNA license and eventually got hired at Hospice of Citrus County. She loved that job, it was her goal to give each of her patients and their families the best possible care, love, compassion & Support.
She talked about everything from everyday activities to where are you going to spend eternity, Veronica loved to tell people about Jesus. Veronica settled that question for herself when in 1995 we went to a Revival meeting at New Testament Baptist Church, in Floral City. She realized she was a sinner and needed a Savior, Romans chapter 3 verse 10 says as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans chapter 6, verse 23 says for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans chapter 10 verse 9 says that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. Romans chapter 10 verse 13 says, for who so ever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Veronica realized that her being a good person, or her good works wasn’t getting her to heaven. She needed a savior, and the only link between sinful man and Holy God is the Lord Jesus Christ. Her life was changed forever that night and is the reason I have no doubt to where she will spend eternity in the loving arms of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
After retiring from Hospice, she continued her service to the community by volunteering at the Connections Clinic in Hernando, FL for the homeless & underserved, she also was happy taking on new duties at our church. Veronica loved teaching her young people in Sunday school class & singing with her beautiful voice in the choir. Her favorite verse was Psalms 100.
