Betty Lou Olmen, age 91, of Inverness, FL passed away on September 30, 2023. Betty was born in Miami, FL to the late John D. and Emma (Cooper) Still. She graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School, in the class of 1950, where she proudly served as a cadette. After graduation, Betty began her 25 year career working at Southern Bell (AT&T) in the Centralized Repair Department. In 1986, she moved from Miami to Inverness.

Betty was a Charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she and her second husband served faithfully for 15 years in the Homebound Ministry, visiting and ministering to those who were unable to attend church. She loved this ministry and helping people. In addition, she served in the AWANA ministry for several years working with children.

Betty was the ultimate caregiver. She took care of many family members over the years and was happy to be able to do so. She was outgoing and would greet everyone with a kind word and a cheerful smile. She truly cared about people.

Betty loved to work in her yard, pull weeds and could tell you the name of most any flower, tree,or plant and how to care for them. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family playing all kinds of card, board and tabletop games.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Pamela Bradford Darnell and her husband Roger of Inverness; Cheryl Anderson and her husband Gary of Fort Lauderdale; 2 grandchildren,Ricky Bradford (Rachelle) of Berkeley, CA; Katie Krieger (Jonathan) of Fort Lauderdale; 5 great grandchildren, Sophie, Luka, Nora, Jesse and Henry; 1 niece and 1 nephew, Becky (Robert) McIntire and Robert Brice. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Elbert Mingo, of 41 years, her second husband, Robert Olmen, of 18 years, and her sister, Emilie Sluyter.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Friday, October 6, 2023 at 3 PM at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Inverness, with the Rev. Darrell Reneau officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the church on Friday, from 2 PM until the service begins at 3 PM.
