Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On

Judy Ann Sospenzi

Judy Ann Sospenzi, age 83, Hernando, FL peacefully passed away at home on August 20, 2023 surrounded by her husband, children and beloved ragdoll cats. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her mother, daughter and great granddaughter.

Judy was born in New Haven, IL on July 29, 1940 to the late Willard and Eunice (Ebling) Kleiner and moved to Florida in 1992 from Naperville, IL.

She and her husband built a life many could only dream of – those treasures included: their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends (and the cats, of course).

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Frank L. Sospenzi; 3 children: Frank W. Sospenzi and his wife, Brenda of Lakeland, TN; Susan L. Morrison and her husband, Dale of Jacksonville, FL; Steven M. Sospenzi and wife, Tammy of Rogers, AR; 2 brothers: Arthur Kleiner of Tucson, AZ and Donald Kleiner of Inverness, CA; 13 grandchildren and 18, soon to be 19, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy A. Sullivan in 2018. Stacy was married to Michael. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Sophie in 2015.

Judy was overwhelmingly generous, caring and kind. To be loved by Judy often meant receiving a hand-made gift such as a blanket, quilt, doll or whatever she came up with – and each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren received one of these special gifts.

To many, Judy accomplished more in a day that most do in a week and never slowed down. If she wasn’t using her gifts to create something new at the sewing machine or baking, she was busy organizing events for her golf and sewing friends.

If you were to ask Judy about her upcoming plans, they would most certainly include a cruise or trip somewhere, as traveling the world with her husband was one of her most favorite things to do. She was filled with a desire to see and experience the world with her soulmate – and she did so often.

She loved Christmas and decorating for the holiday season – especially with cardinals and angels. But, her favorite thing of all: having her home filled with family and friends, which is exactly how she spent her last month on earth.

There is a Celebration of Life scheduled on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Fr. Michael Suszynski, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until the hour of service. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Florida Sewing Sew-ciety, an organization that Judy and her friends would sew and give blankets and quilts to deserving people:
