Robert Bass

Robert “Bobby” Bass, 82, of Hernando, FL passed away May 30, 2023 at HCA Ocala Hospital in Ocala, FL. He was born in Alachua, FL on March 6, 1941 to the late John and Elizabeth (Smith) Bass. Bobby was a utility contractor for the water and sewer industry, and a Christian by faith. He arrived in this area in 1979, coming from Punta Gorda, FL and served our country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia G. Bass. Other survivors include his children Robert Keith Bass of Beverly Hills, FL, Mathew Paul Bass and his wife Sandra of Oxford, FL, Robert Edward Bass, Jr and his wife Rachel of Flagstaff, AZ, and Karla Prince and her husband Ray of Cairo, GA; brothers Alan, Monroe, and Benny Bass; sister Martha Holder; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services for Bobby will be held on Monday, June 12, 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL where military honors will be rendered. A procession from the funeral home for the cemetery will depart precisely at 1:15 pm. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home at 12:00 Noon until the time of the procession.
