Our beautiful mom Ursula passed away peacefully in her home on January 24th with my sister and I by her side. It was so beautiful and so sad, we will miss her so much. Our mom and dad’s anniversary just passed, and we know they are together now. Thank you, mom, and dad for being such kind, loving supportive parents and always giving us your unconditional love. We miss you both so much.
Mom was born in 1935, Ursula Maria Winkler in Southern Silesia to her parents Georg Winkler and Rosalie Strauch she had a younger sister Anja. Mom met our Dad Peter square dancing in Manhattan and were married for 49 years. Mom came to the United States when she was 23 as Au Pair and took care of four boys in Ossining NY. She was a natural mother and caretaker. My mom’s mother sadly died when she was only 5 years old, my sister and I have always been so amazed an in awe of how she could have known how to be such a loving, caring mother to us when she was so alone during such a hard time in Europe. Our mom was so proud of us and especially her grandchildren.
We are full of so much love that she gave us and will miss her so much. For those of you who knew her she was an avid reader, loved the opera, ballet, history, and to travel. She was very independent, and so knowledgeable of so many things, having a European parent comes with a lot of knowledge and history of the world. She made our lives full of love, joy, and experiences.
So grateful that we were able to spend this last Christmas with her. We were very close, but we will always wish we had spent more time with her and were able to talk to her for just one more time. We love you mom, you were loved, you live in us and will always be missed.
Ursula is survived by her two daughters: Heidi Bilezikian and Deborah Lanino; and three grandsons: Andrew, Dylan, and Daniel. A private prayer service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2:00PM, with Father Michael Suszynski officiating. She will be interred beside her husband, Peter, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Cremation with Care arrangements provided by the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
