Arthur Curtis Jordan, age 94, of Homosassa, FL went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2022 at the HPH Hospice facility in Lecanto, with family at his bedside.
Mr. Jordan was born in Wilmette, IL on April 13, 1928 to the late Ira C. Jordan and Lucille Hazelton Jordan, and came to this area in 1992 from Indiana. His wife of 63 years, Mary L. Jordan, preceded him in death. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Homosassa.
Arthur and his wife graduated from DePauw University in 1950. He was a retired Vice President for Leo Burnett Advertising Company, overseeing the Maytag Lonely Repairman campaign. He loved spending time with his family. He spent many years boating on Lake Michigan and on Crystal River and made sure that all on board ‘actively participated’ in the boating adventure. He loved bicycling, swimming, yardwork, and tinkering in the garage. He enjoyed watching football and golf, and always had chocolate on hand. He was a member of the TC America Club and spent much time with his antique Chrysler TC Maserati convertible; he was always ready for Florida’s sudden showers and identified key places on Rt 19 where he could pull over if it started to rain.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, Robert L. Jordan of Fern Park, FL and Virginia J. Crandall (Stephen) of Inverness; 2 grandchildren: Phillip Crandall (Christa Ryan) and Joseph Crandall (Veronica Wylie); and 2 great granddaughters: Harper and Quinn Crandall. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and James Jordan.
There will be a private Celebration of Life scheduled in February at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to your favorite charity.
