ReDether “Dee” B. Trumbly, 93 years, passed peacefully October 13, 2022, under the care of Hospice of Marion County, at The Ted and Diane Brandley House, Summerfield, Marion County. Dee was born in Glennville, GA to the late Coy H. Barrow and Bessie Marie Albert.
Dee has been a resident of Citrus County since 1984, previously residing in Hialeah, FL. In Hialeah, Dee was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was the Girls Auxiliary Leader. Dee also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Baptist Hospital in Miami.
Dee retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 20 years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed baking and loved trying new dessert recipes. Dee spent a lot of time on the water and boating. She loved having GA slumber parties and instilled her Christian values on the children she worked with at church.
She was predeceased by her parents; Coy H. and Bessie Marie Barrow, Sr. her husband; Lewis A. Trumbly, her sons; Gary L. Trumbly and Edward A. Trumbly, and her siblings; Bertie Mae Perser, Coy H. Barrow, Jr., Willie Fay Russom, Albert H. Barrow “Pete”, and Jimmy D. Barrow.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Daniel L. Trumbly of Pace FL and Claudia T. Russell and her husband Albert of Grand Island, FL, her sisters Jo Ann Holt of St. Cloud, FL and Marneil Hopkins of Davie, FL, also survived by 8 grandchildren; Alex, Amy, Melissa, Lindsay, Evette, Kristen, Matthew, and Michael, 6 great grandchildren Spencer, Emily, Haley, León, Gage, and Oliver and 1 great great grandchild; Maverick.
Family and friends are invited to her funeral service Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2pm, with Pastor Byron Brown from First Baptist Church of Inverness, officiating, in Fountains Memorial Park 5635 W. Green Acres St. Homosassa. Visitation will begin at 1pm until time of service. She will be laid to rest with her husband immediately following her funeral service.
