Edward Lee Gillespie, Jr., also known lovingly as Ed or “Gilly”, resident of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away at the age of 59 on June 27th, 2022. He was born to Louise C. (Hamilton) Gillespie and to the late Edward Lee Gillespie, Sr. on January 30th, 1963 in Norfold, Virginia. He made Citrus County his home 20 years ago after moving from Gore, WV.
He attended Kinsfield High School and met his late wife, Terri, who passed in 2018, in Gore. He attended Old Dominion University in Virgina on an ROTC Scholarship and graduated from college with a Bachelor’s in Draftsmanship.
He was dedicated to his family and loved his family more than anything. Ed was extremely talented and enjoyed drafting so much, some nights he would dream up an idea, get out of bed, and begin his drafts in the middle of the night. He impressed many people with his drafts and inspiration to build homes, and began his business in Citrus County, “Gillepsie and Gillespie Contracting” and built homes for many years from the ground up.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Terri; his daughter, Patricia in 2018; and his father, Edward Lee Gillespie, Sr. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Matthew Gillespie and Kayla Waye (Nathan); his granchildren, Faith and Jonathan; his siblings, Dennis L. White and Deanna Conger (Dade); his loving moher, Louise Gillespie; his nephew David; and his great-nephews. Kayden, Hunter, and Liam.
Arrangements for Ed are private at this time. Cremation with Care is under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
