Benjamin P. Hayward, age 78, Inverness, FL passed away April 10, 2022 at home under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.

Ben was born in Steubenville,OH on January 10, 1944 to the late Phillips A. and Helen (Tomillon) Hayward and came to this area in 1959 from Louisville, KY. He retired from the Citrus County School Board as a Route Supervisor with 18 years of service. Following that retirement, he worked at NAPA Automotive. Ben served our country in the United States Air Force, having retired as a Tech-Sgt from active duty and the reserves with over 30 years of service . During his service, he was stationed in both Okinawa and Vietnam.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Flo (Johns) Hayward; 2 children: Phillip Hayward and his wife Theresa of Hernando, FL, and Wendy Gibbs and her husband Brian of Spring Hill, FL; 3 grandchildren: Noah and Jonah King and Brody Hayward; 5 sisters in law: Faye, Betty, Joyce, and Karen, and Kim; 2 brothers in law: Terry and John.

Military graveside services will be on Friday, April 29th at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery. Interment will follow. Friends may visit with the family at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the procession leaves for the cemetery at 1:15 PM.
