Rolf Max Benkert, age 85, Inverness, FL passed away February 18, 2022. Rolf was born in Burns Switzerland on July 24, 1936. As a young boy in Switzerland he remembered watching the German war planes fly over his home during World War II. He later became a pilot for Swiss Air where he spent 34 years seeing the world. During his time flying, he found his passion for art and opened an art gallery in Switzerland and began forming friendships in the art world with some of the finest artist of our time.
He also so much admired the United States. He began spending his winters in America and summers back in his native country of Switzerland. Two of his proudest accomplishments were being a member of the Masons where he was a brother for over 50 years. He also became an American citizen and was a proud American. He was a member of the Touch of Class Corvette club.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla Dale Benkert and his extended family; Uschi, and Francie, sons Peter, Kenneth and Michael. The grandkids he adored Alexis, Alayna, Ashlee, Sedona, and Skyla. In keeping with Rolf’s wishes, there will be no services.
