James Scott Hoard 73 of Floral City passed away January 18, 2022 at HPH Citrus Hospice House. He was born September 13, 1948 in Indianapolis IN to the late James Everett and Catherine Lucille Hoard.
James was a retired police officer beginning his career in law enforcement with the Indianapolis Police Department. His career spanned 31 years.
He was a member of the Police Motor Unit in Indianapolis, IN, Citrus County, Miami Dade County in Florida. He was a loving, caring, generous, and compassionate person. He enjoyed making people laugh, and telling jokes and enjoyed football and Nascar.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 7 years Sherry Hoard and children Matt Taylor, Donette Chewning, Jonathan (Ashley) Bailey and Jason (Amy) Bailey, his sister Sandra Summers, his grandchildren Matthew, Madison, Jessica, James, Joshaline, Hunter, Harper, and Avery, also survived by his nieces, Theresa Summers, Sabrina Summers, Alexis Summers, Alyssa Summers, and Ashley Summers.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Giglio of the Calvary Chapel officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:AM until the hour of service.
