Teddy Lynn “Ted” Beck, age 75, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 5:18 am with his granddaughter, Sarina Moriarty by his side. Ted Beck of Cedar Hill, Missouri was born in Redford, Missouri on December 21, 1945, to Tressie (Bounds) Beck and the late Orville Beck.
Ted worked as a carpenter most of his lifetime; also considered a “jack of all trades.” He started as a cowboy growing up on a farm, riding and training horses; his cowboy hats being some of his most prized possessions. He worked as a glass smith; blowing glass at county fairs and also a truck driver before retiring as a carpenter.
No one who met Ted could forget his infectious passion for his hobbies: cooking, hunting, camping, fishing, painting, woodworking, country-western dancing, and enjoying good company by a campfire or during an Andy Griffith show. During his most recent residence in Cedar Hill, Missouri, he was accompanied by his cousin and family in many outdoor activities, including trips to the lake, deer hunting, and family get-togethers.
Teddy Lynn Beck was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Francis McNamara who passed away in 2013. They enjoyed a long life together in Longview, Texas with his stepchildren and grandchildren as well as their pet dogs and birds. He is survived by his mother, Tressie Beck Prince; son, Terry Beck; daughter, Laura Picato; sister, Brenda Dean and many more extended family members.
Cremation provided under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home located in Inverness, Florida. To express condolences visit www.chasdavis.com.
