Carole “Lynn” Baker 1933 – 2021

Carole “Lynn” Baker, 88, of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully in the care of Vitas Hospice on November 11, 2021. Carole was born in New Jersey and moved to Miami in 1953 and married Bandleader, Don Baker. Together they performed Big Band music professionally for over 20 years across the United States.

Upon retirement in Inverness, Carole continued to perform locally in retirement communities and local clubs. She performed “songs of their life” from the 40s and 50s. Known professionally as Lynn, she teamed up with Maralyn Nell as a duo and the two quickly became fast friends until her death.

Carole was an avid cat lover who rescued many cats in her lifetime. She had a genuine heart for animals and was enchanted by the antics of her own cats as well as the wildlife that came across her yard.

In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by 2 brothers, her husband and one daughter, Donna. She leaves behind her daughter, Susan, her son-in-law and 4 grandchildren.

Carole will be laid to rest with her husband, Don, at The Veteran’s National Cemetery in Bushnell. Cremation With Care : Chas. E. Davis
