Marie G. Hartley of Inverness passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born to the late Raymond and Goldie (George) Gottstein on February 15, 1937 in Bloomsburg, PA. Marie was married to her loving husband James Hartley for 51 years until his passing on March 20, 2018. She made Citrus County her home over 30 years ago after relocating from Valley Forge, PA. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. She also enjoyed boating and going out fishing. Marie had a great love for dogs and had many faithful companions over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Those left to mourn Marie’s passing include her son, Jack Hartley and his wife Holly Hartley of Inverness; stepchildren: James M. Hartley and his wife Karen of Bensalem, PA, Gail Ann Freedman and her husband Phillip of Media, PA, and Susan Bauhof and her husband John of Bensalem; brothers: Leonard and Walter Gottstein; sister, Josephine Keyser; and grandchildren: Tyler and Makayla Hartley. She was preceded in death by sister, Julia Kasmitskie.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, November 15 at 10:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home and will be conducted by Pastor Paul Giglio of Calvary Chapel. Following the chapel service, Marie will be laid to rest with her husband James at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 11:30 AM. A procession to the cemetery will depart the funeral home at 10:45 AM for those that wish to attend the cemetery committal service. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
