Harmon R Nevils

Harmon Raleigh Nevils of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on October 20, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born to the late Charlie Cohen Nevils and Louise (Hendrix) Nevils on November 24, 1941 in Register, GA. Harmon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division. Following his military service he worked in the construction industry. Harmon made Citrus County his home over 20 years ago after relocating from Pompano Beach and was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness for over 15 years. He served as a missionary for Compassion International Missions for a number of years and helped bring the word of the Lord to children all over the world including Guatemala, Mexico and the Philippines. In his spare time he really enjoyed working in his garden and loved planting flowers. Harmon also enjoyed fishing and watching football.

Those left to mourn Harmon’s passing include his wife Rufina (Luzada) Nevils; sons: William “Bill” Nevils and his wife Regina, Jack Nevils and his wife Maria; daughter, Michelle Nevils Chisholm and her husband Michael; stepson, Dick Luzada; stepdaughters: Rose Luzada Mitillia and Annie Luzada Mayer; brothers: David Nevils and his wife Wanda, Ronnie
Nevils and his wife Roberta; and six grandchildren: William “Woody”, Bronte, David, Savannah, Cody and Camille. Harmon was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Nevils on October 17, 2007. He was also preceded in death by one brother.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness and will be conducted by Pastor Darrell Reneau. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Harmon’s memory to the Cornerstone Baptist Church building fund. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
