Julianne DePinto

Julianne DePinto of Hernando, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on October 17, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born to the late Benjamin and Marion (Gray) Ward on October 11, 1940 in Alexandria, LA. She earned her PHD in Psychology from Northwestern University and prior to her retirement, independently conducted equal employment opportunity investigations for the United States Government.

In 1963 she married her loving husband Vito DePinto with whom she shared 58 years of loving marriage. Julianne and Vito made Citrus County their home in 2002 after relocating from Chicago, IL. She always made an effort to give back to her community and help others in need. In addition to doing volunteer work locally with the Citrus Hills Women’s Club, Julianne had worked with the Veterans Administration to set up a Senior Adult Center in North Chicago, IL. She was a member of the Newcomers Club, the Citrus County Arts Center, the Citrus Four and More Club and the Citrus County Macintosh Computer Users Group. Julianne greatly enjoyed photography and was also a member of a digital camera club.

In addition to her husband Vito, those left to mourn Julianne’s passing include her sons: Michael DePinto and his wife Anna of London, England, Vincent DePinto and his wife Lisa of Chicago, IL; brother, Stephen Ward and his wife Ingrid of St. Louis, MO; sisters: Carolyn Williams and Bonnie Hacke, both of Las Cruces, NM, Diane Castronovo and her husband Tony of Melbourne, FL, Cindy Holland and her husband Ted of Wyoming, Nancy Lucas of Villa Ridge, MO; and granddaughter, Camilla DePinto.

In keeping with her kind spirit and true giving nature, Julianne’s final wishes were for her body to be donated to science to further the education of future physicians. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
