David L. Streicher, 73, of Lecanto, FL passed away on September 30th, 2021 under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. He was born to the late Lee G. and Sharon (Seale) Streicher on February 22nd, 1948 in Covington, Kentucky. David bravely served our country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He was a Carpenter in Miami for many years and after relocating from Miami, made his home in Citrus County in 1979. Prior to retirement, he went to work for the Citrus County Facilities and Maintenance Department.
David enjoying hunting, fishing, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Additionally, he was a member of the Masons and The Shriners. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He made his own ammunition for his guns and enjoyed working with his hands.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Lee S. Streicher and Lisa Streicher. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Joy; his children, Roy Streicher (Polly) of Jacksonville, FL and Christina Crotty (late John) of Tallahassee, FL; his sister, Tara Couture (Glen); and his grandchildren, Kathryn, Sarah, Jacob, and Rachel. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, where full Military Honors will take place. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM and last until the hour of service. David will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in David’s memory to any Parkinson’s Charity or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
