Robert J. Putney, 76, of Hernando, FL passed away on September 17th, 2021. He was born on March 23, 1945 in Bronx, NY to the late George and Mary (Bragers) Putney. He bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army. He made Citrus County his home 40 years ago after moving from Bronx, NY. He will be remembered for being a very simple and great man, who loved his family dearly. His quick wit and sense of humor will continue to lighten the hearts of those he left behind.
Robert was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Frances Putney, who passed on July 9th, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, George and Thomas. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother and sister, Eugene (Ann) Putney and Joan (Jim) Byrne, and extended family.
Robert will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
