Jerry Wilbert Weaver, 87 of Lake Pannasoffkee, passed away June 9, 2021 at his home under the loving care of his family and Cornerstone Hospice. Jerry was born on June 9, 1934 in Oakland, Maryland, to the late Roy Donald and Gertrude (Miller) Weaver. He came to Sumter County in 1996 from Seffner, FL.
Jerry was a mechanic for the Pepsi Company retiring after 20 years. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Lake Panasoffkee 1st Baptist Church, who loved sharing the word of the Lord. He was a Deacon in each church he belonged to and was just a “good Christian man”. He also was an antique car fan who owned and restored many cars over the years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Ruth Weaver; his children Steven L. Weaver and his wife Katherina, of Coleman, FL, Mike R. Weaver and his wife Jeannie, of Wildwood, FL and Amy L. Sheen and her husband David, of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; his brothers and sisters: Jessie, Donald, Jack, John, Ward, David, Ben, Zelma, Lovetta and Reta; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bruce.
Funeral services for Jerry, will be conducted on Tuesday, June 15th at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, with Jon King, former pastor of the 1st Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee, officiating . Burial will follow with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.
