George Monroe Daniel, Sr., 99, of Inverness, passed away April 26, 2021 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. George was born on February 21, 1922 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Joel and Mary (Diehl) Daniel. He came to Citrus County in 1987 from Tarpon Springs, FL.
George was a WWII Naval Veteran, retiring after 20 years as a Senior Chief. He later worked at Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware as a Lab Technician for 28 years.
George is survived by his sons: George M. Daniel, Jr., and Robert R. Daniel; his brother, Edward Daniel and sister, Betty Jean; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maner, on May 23, 2012; and his sister, Mary Jane.
A Graveside service of Honor will be conducted on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Full military honors will be offered by the Hernando VFW #4252. Friends may call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, from 12 noon until the procession leaves at 12:45 PM.
