William S. Davis, 71, of Inverness, FL passed away on April 24, 2021 at Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness, FL. He was born to the late William J. and Ann E. (Bryant) Davis on August 27, 1949 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. He was a musician for many years and was a master steel guitar player. He married his late wife, Margaret “Peggy” Besser Davis in 2010 and together, they made Citrus County their home about 12 years ago when they relocated from Longview, Texas. William was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is described as being dog crazy and frequenting the Crystal River, FL Rural King.
William, along with his parents, was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy, in 2018 and his two brothers, William Joseph “Cush” Davis and Ricky Davis. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, William “Billy” David of Inverness, FL, Stephen Davis of West Virginia, and Shauna McKinney (Graham) of Lake Jackson, Texas; his four sisters, Bonnie Lawrence, JoAnn Davis, Brenda Davis, and Vickie LaMarche; his five grandchildren, Audrey McKinney, Kade Davis, Cayman Howell, Charley Davis, and Grayson Davis; his three cherished great-grandchildren; and his friends at Rural King. A special recognition and thank you goes out to the all of the staff at Crystal River, FL Rural King for making William feel at home every time he stepped foot into Rural King and for treating him like a dear friend. Your kindness towards William does not go unnoticed. William was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
