Barbara Jeanne Overlander, 83, of Inverness, passed away April 2, 2021 at Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. Jeanne was born on October 21, 1937 in Tioga Center, NY, to the late Charles L. and Eleanor (Ross) Pelham. She came to Citrus County 22 years ago from New York State.
Jeanne attended the Floral City United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. She also volunteered at Planned Parenthood and the local library in New York. She was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Robert Overlander; her sons: Michael Paul (Terry) Overlander of Calhoun, GA and Allen Jay Overlander of Oviedo, FL; her brother, Steven Pelham of Hickory, NC; her sisters: Dawn McCoy and Phyllis Kraph, both of Nichols, NY; granddaughters: Sarah, Ellen and Amanda; great grandchildren: Cailin and Scott. She was preceded in death by her son, David James Overlander.
A Celebration of Jeanne’s life will be conducted on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11 AM, from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, with Pastor Joyce Dunn, officiating. Interment will be at the Tioga Cemetery in Owego, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10AM until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
