Thomas A Gregory

Thomas Alfred Gregory of Inverness, FL passed away while under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on March 18, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 20, 1932 to the late Thomas I. and Dorothy (Page) Gregory. Thomas proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, he went to work in Law Enforcement and was a Communications Officer for the Southampton, NY Police Department for 17 years. On May 10, 1956, Thomas married Masako (Hashikawa) Gregory with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He and Masako made Citrus County their home in 1996 after relocating from Hampton Bays, NY. In his spare time, Thomas enjoyed watching sports, reading, gardening and working puzzles.

Those left to mourn Thomas’ passing include his daughter, Susan R. Gatto and her husband Charlie of Inverness, FL; son, Steven T. Gregory and his wife Elaine Fredrick of Providence, RI; sister, Barbara Trounson of Wilmington, NC; and grandchildren: Melissa Murphy and her husband Sean, Christopher Gatto, Hanako Gregory and Pauline Gregory.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home and will be conducted by Paul Giglio of Calvary Chapel of Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Thomas’ memory to Vitas Hospice, P.O. Box 1330, Lecanto, FL 34460.
