Janice Yvonne Pinney of Inverness, FL passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on February 15, 2021 at the age of 78. Janice was born to the late Edgar and Luree (Arnold) Padgett in Hackettstown, New Jersey on August 18, 1942. She was married to her husband Gary Pinney for 47 years until his passing on January 16, 2010. Janice and her husband made Citrus County their home in 1979 after relocating from Oak Harbor, WA. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling with her friends and was on a bowling team for a number of years. She was also a member of Inverness VFW #4337.
Those left to mourn Janice’s passing include her son, Gary L. Pinney, Jr. of Hernando, FL; daughter, Yvonne Pinney of Hialeah, FL; brother, Buddy Padgett and his wife Matilda; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her son, Elton E. Pinney in 2013; and 2 sisters: Edith Mincey and Penny Miller.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by Pastor Dennis Jacobson of North Oak Baptist Church. Following the chapel service, Janice will be laid to rest with her husband Gary at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
