Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On

Enid “Tish” L Hand

Enid Letitia “Tish” Hand of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on January 21, 2021 at the age of 76. Tish was born to the late Ralph and Dorothy (McInturff) Daniels in Enid, OK on September 20, 1944. She was married to her husband Richard Keith Hand I for 31 years until his passing in 1996. Tish made Inverness her home in 2008 after relocating from Oklahoma to escape the cold winters. In her spare time she enjoyed online gaming and especially enjoyed playing fantasy and sci-fi games. Her favorites were Destiny, Tomb Raider and games with a zombie theme. Tish would often play online against opponents that were much younger than her. She was an incredibly artistic person and a skilled painter. In addition to her artistic skills, she was an accomplished and published author of 5 sci-fi books and 1 romance novel. There weren’t many challenges that Tish was not willing to take on. When she was told by a contractor that a fireplace could not be put into her home, she took it upon herself to knock out the wall and install her own gas fireplace, including laying the necessary gas lines. She was 70 years old at the time. When a mechanic was going to charge her a small fortune to change a clutch cable in her Volkswagen Rabbit, she decided that she was better off to just do it herself. Tish also enjoyed sewing and had made many pageant gowns for her granddaughter when she was young. She enjoyed riding a Segway and was a former member of the Segway Riders Club of The Villages. Tish’s favorite activity in her free time was singing karaoke. Her absolute favorite song to sing was “let the bodies hit the floor” by Drowning Pool. Not the typical karaoke choice you would expect from a woman in her 70’s. Tish had a great love for animals and her pets were the loves of her life. She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature and deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Those left to mourn Tish’s passing include her sons: Robert Hand and his wife Monica of Orlando, FL, Richard Hand II and his wife Bonnie of Edmond, OK; brother, Dale “Butchy” Daniels and his wife Judy of Stillwater, OK; sisters: Sherry Walls of Enid, OK, Betty Hall and her husband Venis of Westlaco, TX; grandchildren: Richard “Keith” Hand III, Katelyn “Katie” Hand, Rebecca “Becca” Hand and Charlotte Hand. In addition to her husband Richard Hand I, Tish was preceded in death by her daughter, Kasandra (Hand) Young and her brother, Ralph Duane “Chipper” Daniels. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
