Patricia Ann “Pat” Barz, 87, of Homosassa, FL passed away on December 29, 2020 at Oak Hill Hospital of Brooksville, FL. She was born to the late John William and Georgena Loretta (Blair) Hale on August 22, 1933 in Holidays Cove, WV. She and her husband, Gordon, have enjoyed 68 years of marriage together and in 2012, they made Citrus County their home after moving from Stratton, Ohio. Pat was a homemaker for many years but also worked as telephone operator for some time, as well as various other jobs where she was always sure to make many dear friends. Pat was a people person and not only loved to make friends, but was a world traveler. Sometimes, she would travel and make memories with her husband or at other times, she would travel solo and make many personal memories that she would later share the details of to her family and friends. Pat traveled to Africa, Spain, England, and Portugal just to name a few. She loved to pamper herself and get her hair and nails done at the salon and enjoyed shopping. She was a card player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends, accompanied by her husband. Pat was a very likable person and made friends and memories anywhere she went. She was loved for the one of a kind person she was and will be deeply missed by all who got the privilege to know her.
Pat, along with her parents, was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawna J. Churchman, and by her sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Gordon; her two sons, William L. Barz (Skye) of Homosassa, FL and Bruce A. Barz of Bradenton, FL; her brother, John W. Hale; and her five cherished grandchildren and five adored great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul Giglio of Calvary Chapel of Inverness officiating. A visitation at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home will begin at 12:15 PM, for a time of fellowship and remembrance. For those family and friends who would like to attend the services at Florida National Cemetery, a procession will be leaving from the funeral home to the cemetery at 1:15 PM following the visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
