David Garcia of Inverness, FL passed away while under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on January 1, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born to the late Ben and Olivama Garcia of Pueblo, CO on October 14, 1936.
In October of 2000 David married his loving wife Jeanne with whom he shared 20 years of loving marriage. He and Jeanne made Inverness their home in 2005 after relocating from Colorado and attended the Redemption Point Assembly of God in Inverness. David was a welder by profession but also used his skills as a welder to create beautiful pieces of art out of steel. He spent many days working in his home workshop creating remarkable original works of art and became a talented woodworker in his later years.
In addition to his loving wife Jeanne, those left to mourn David’s passing include his sons: David Garcia of Inverness, FL, Bob Garcia and his wife Cheryl of Simi Valley, CA, Mark Garcia of Pueblo, CO, Jim Garcia of Santa Fe, NM; daughter, Kathy Garcia of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Rosie Arestegui of Hawthorne, CA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years and mother of his surviving 5 children, Mary F. Garcia. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Suzie, Tabby and Angie and niece, Barbara Arestegui.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home and will be conducted by Pastor Kennie Berger of Redemption Point Assembly of God. Following the chapel service, David will be laid to rest at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, FL. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This is David’s Life’s Verse.
