Ronald Abner of Inverness, FL passed away with his loving wife by his side at Citrus Memorial Hospital on November 20, 2020 at the age of 80. Ron was born to the late Acy and Demia (Turner) Abner in Sand Gap, KY on August 8. 1940. He was married to his loving wife Priscilla (Brown) Abner for 28 years. After retiring as a factory worker for the automotive industry, Ron and his wife made Citrus County, FL their home in 2009 after relocating from Cookeville, TN. He absolutely loved Florida and spending time on the beach. His motto was “if it’s too cold for shorts and a tank top, it’s just too cold” so, Florida was the perfect place to spend his retirement. Ron was a member of Masonic Lodge #259 in Livingston, TN. He enjoyed spending time “people watching” wherever he would go. Ron never met a stranger and loved talking to and meeting new people all the time. He was a Drag Racer for many years and absolutely loved cars. Ron enjoyed attending car auctions and watching auto auctions on television. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the Inverness Church of God.
In addition to his wife Priscilla, those left to mourn Ron’s passing include his daughter, Deborah Hundt of Cookeville, TN; stepsons: Jimmy Lewis (Loretta) of Clarkrange, TN, Mark Lewis (Benay) of Fort Leavenworth, KS; brothers: Gary Abner (Sharon), Acy Abner (Betty), Tawone Abner (Kim), all of Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ron was preceded in death by his brother Nevada Abner and his wife Patsy and his sister, Mary Abner.
Ron’s family plan to gather together in Tennessee to celebrate, honor and remember his life at a later date. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
