Marilyn Geiger

Marilyn Geiger of Inverness, FL passed away at her home on October 28, 2020 at the age of 81. Marilyn was born to the late John and Genevieve (Kruzewski) Bizelewicz in Jersey City, NJ on November 1, 1938. She made Citrus County her home in 2010 after relocating from Ft. Lauderdale and was a lifetime member of Inverness VFW #4337. Marilyn loved to socialize with her friends and was also a lifetime member of the IRRU Club in Inverness. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino in Tampa, listening to country music and dancing. Marilyn also liked fishing and crabbing.

Those left to mourn Marilyn’s passing include her daughters: Valerie Bowers and her husband Michael of Overland Park, KS, Lorie Newton and her husband Jimmy of Inverness, FL, Tammy Shinn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tara Hickok and her husband David of Davie, FL; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Hale Geiger on December 13, 2008 and her son, Wayne Scott Shinn on January 5, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Genevieve.

A celebration and luncheon in Marilyn’s honor, featuring a presentation by the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Inverness VFW Post #4337. An interment service will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM where Marilyn’s urn will be laid to rest beside her husband Hale. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
