Lydia Ann Shafer of Floral City, FL passed away at Ocala Regional Hospital on September 21, 2020 at the age of 67. Lydia was born in Lorain, OH on February 5, 1953 to the late Elmer and Irene Mary (Sokoll) Cunningham. She made Citrus County her home in 2017 after relocating from Oveido, FL. Lydia had worked as a caregiver and homemaker throughout her lifetime. In her spare time, she loved to travel. She also loved fishing, gardening and meeting new people.
Those left to mourn Lydia’s passing include her husband of 5 years, Darrell Shafer; children: David Bridge of Floral City, Thomas Bridge of Inverness, FL, Anthony Bridge of Orlando, FL, Melissa Bridge of Homosassa, FL; brother, Fred Cunningham of Fort Sill, OK; sister, Patricia Cunningham of Dayton, OH; and five grandchildren.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by Pastor Kevin Ballard of Calvary Chapel Inverness. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Following the chapel service, Lydia will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home
