Clarence Baxter Jennette, Jr., 77, of Hernando, FL passed away August 28, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Washington, NC on December 23, 1942 to the late Clarence B. and Juanita (Peele) Jennette, Sr. Clarence was a tugboat Tankerman, former police officer, and United States Air Force veteran. He arrived in this area in 1984 coming from Virginia Beach, VA. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering in his tool shed, and tracing his family roots and genealogy. He especially loved his dogs, Toby and Annie. Clarence was well known for his sarcasm, quick wit, humor, and inviting disposition. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Denise A. Jennette. Other survivors include his children, Dr. Kyle Jennette of Chicago, IL, Leo Jennette and his wife Heather, and Suzanne Jennette, both of Buxton, NC; brother Wayland Jennette; sister Ruby Good; and 2 grandchildren. Clarence was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Miller Jennette, a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Clarence will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Private cremation under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
