Gerald E Devio

Gerald E. Devio, 87, of Inverness, FL passed away on August 16th, 2020 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Gerald was born to the late Charles and Florence (Goltha) Devio on August 23rd, 1932 in Worcester, MA. Gerald was a Carpenter for many years and in 1951, married his beloved wife, Shirley. Together, he and his wife moved to Citrus County in 1995 from Pembroke Pines, FL and made Inverness their home. He enjoyed attending Fort Cooper Baptist Church and was a devout Christian.
Gerald was a traveling man, and loved to see the world. He went on cruises all around the world visiting Alaska multiple times (and all 50 states, in fact), The Caribbean, and have visited four continents including Brazil, Italy, Australia, Argentina, Paraguay. He has also seen the Amazon, Tasmanian Sea, and crossed the Bermuda Triangle and International time zone, He loved being on a cruise ship and learning other counties’ cultures. Gerald also enjoyed wood working in his spare time as well as fishing and hunting.
Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his four brothers, Wilford, Warren, Harold, and Robert and his three sisters, Mabel, Marie, and Iola. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gerald Devio and his wife Mirian of Coral Springs, FL; his daughter, Patricia Ryder of Floral City, FL; his five grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren. Gerald loved his family and will be missed by many.
Private arrangements have been scheduled for Gerald. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
