Billy D Newman

Billy D. Newman, resident of Inverness, FL passed away at his home on May 21st, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born to the late Robert H. and Jessie Jones Newman on August 13th, 1935 in Galax, Virginia. Billy married his beloved wife, Valerie, in 2001 and in 2002, he made Inverness his home when he moved from Hampton, Virginia. He managed and owned his own auto dealership for many years and bravely served our country as a member of the United States Army.
Billy enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing, and he loved the ocean. He was also a master diver and skier. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and The Shriners.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Valerie; his two sons, Kevin B. Newman (Nancy) of Virginia and Steven “Craig” Newman of New Orleans, Louisiana; his grandchild, Michael; and his great-grandchild, Anthony.
Billy will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been scheduled for Billy, in the careful direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
