John P. Hamilton

John P. Hamilton, age 72, resident of Dunnellon, FL passed away at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto on April 29th, 2020. He was born in Manassas, Virginia on March 16, 1948 to the late Houston and Martha Arizona (Dotson) Hamilton.

John married his beloved wife, Carole, in 1986 and worked as a Carpenter for many years. He made Florida his home 15 years ago after relocating from Stephens City, VA. John was an outdoorsman, who will be remembered for his avid love of game hunting, ginseng hunting, bike riding, fishing, and being out in the woods. He was a jokester, always making people laugh about any topic that came up. His family lovingly describes him as a “Comedian”.

John was preceded in death by his parents and those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carole; his children, John Jr. (Patricia) Hamilton of Bridgewater, VA and Cindy Cook of Front Royal, VA; his three brothers, Richard, Kenny, and Jay Hamilton; his six sisters, Zelma Swanson, Bertha Long, Mabel Cook, Sue Ayler, Mary Gallihugh, and Jessie Siegel; his five grandchildren, Curtis Hamilton, Tory Shaffer, Heather Hamilton, Tim Cook, and Danny Cook; and his seven great-grandchildren, Madison Hamilton, Nathaniel Hamilton, Olivia Hamilton, Natalie Shaffer, Benjamin Shaffer, Jacob Shaffer, and Dylan Stahl. John was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Cremation arrangements have been scheduled for John, in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
