Roy “Wayne” Wilkinson

Roy “Wayne” Wilkinson of Inverness, FL passed away at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on March 31, 2020 at the age of 77. Wayne was born in Dozier, AL on December 10, 1942 to the late Loice Lee and Rosie Lee (Moore) Wilkinson. He graduated from High School in 1961, having attended Clewiston High School in Clewiston, FL. Wayne was married to his loving wife, Mary “Beth” Wilkinson, for 32 years until her passing on January 22, 2017. Wayne and Beth made Citrus County their home after relocating from Bushnell, FL in 2004. He was a Christian by faith and attended worship services at Crossgate Assembly of God in Inverness, FL. Prior to retirement, Wayne worked as an over the road truck driver throughout his professional career. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering and taking things apart and putting them together again to make them good as new. Many times he would take donated items that were in disrepair and refurbish them. Once in working order, he would sell the items in a yard sale and donate some of the proceeds to his church. Wayne loved his grandchildren with all his heart and enjoyed spending time with them.

Those left to mourn Wayne’s passing include his daughters: Kathy Reffuse and her husband Larry of Dade City, FL, Lisa Allen and her husband Rick of Ruskin, FL, Holly Valentine and her husband Brett of Lake Placid, FL; stepchildren: Michael Karagines and his wife Karen of Brooksville, FL, Timothy Karagines of Inverness, FL, Veronica Andrews of Inverness, FL; brothers: Leland Wilkinson and his wife Betty of Bushnell, FL, Royce Wilkinson of Dade City, FL; sister, Janice Best of Goldsboro, NC; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild.

Wayne will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL
