Raymond W Blandin

Raymond William Blandin of Crystal River, Florida passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida on March 24, 2020 at the age of 76. Ray was born in Minneapolis, MInnesota on February 16, 1944 to the late Frank Pixley and Elsie Alvera (Bruvold) Blandin.

Ray proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Ray earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from National College and following his military service he went to work for the United States Postal Service as a Maintenance Supervisor. Ray made Crystal River his home three years ago after relocating from Oroville, California. Ray was a member of the Crystal River American Legion #155. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, and in years past liked hiking, camping, snow skiing and mountain climbing.

Those left to mourn Raymond’s passing include his wife Ida Cozart; son, Randall (Randy) Raymond Blandin, his brothers Frank Paul Blandin and his wife Sherill, Carl Floyd Blandin, his sisters Marlys Blandin Jugenitz and her husband Ron, Catherine Joyce Moe and her husband Al, his granddaughter’s Andrea, Carli and Samantha, his nieces and nephews Lyrish, Kate, Amber, Laura, Ryan, Sarah, Aaron, Matthew, five great nieces and nephews in Michigan, three great nieces and nephews in the Northwest, and all his Blandin and Bruvold cousins in Minnesota.

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Valdez, his sister Cynthia Kay Blandin Polly Hewitt and his niece Jennifer Rebecca Polly.
