Vilus Clinton (Bud) Blodgett Jr., of Lecanto, Florida passed away at his home on March 20, 2020 at the age of 85. Bud was born in Barre, VT to the Late Pearl (Edwards) and Vilus Clinton Blodgett, Sr., on November 21, 1934. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He made Citrus County his home 36 years ago after relocating from orange VT and he was a member of Inverness VFW #4337, American Legion in Lecanto, Fl, and the Amvets. He drove a tractor trailer for many years and worked in the granite quarry in Barre, VT, and worked for David La Perle in Inverness, Florida, crafting granite markers and cremations. He designed and helped put together the veteran’s monument in front of the court house in Brooksville Fl. In his spare time Bud enjoyed snowmobiling, watching racing on the TV, and also helped Dale Sanders at the Citrus County Speedway.
Those left to mourn Bud’s passing includes his loving wife of 39 years, Josephine (Senecal) Blodgett; his sons: Timothy Blodgett and his wife Barbra, Robert Blodgett and his wife Janet, Joseph Blodgett and his wife Bonnie, Jason Rood, Richard Rood and his wife Heather. His daughters: Cindy Herrmann and her husband William, Wendy Rood, and Rose Emerson and her Husband Mike. His brothers: Floyde Blodgett and his wife Louise, Wayne Blodgett and his wife Rosalie; his sisters: Laura Garceau and her husband Henry, Ethel (Sue) Blodgett and her Husband Bill. He has 15 grandchildren: Angie Blodgett, Jennifer Stadler and her husband Wolfgang, Stefany Scott and her husband Mathew, Erin Blodgett, Brittany Koplas and her husband Bradley Beaudet, Nichole Blodgett, Erica Blodgett, Melissa Blodgett, Christopher Koplas, Austin Blodgett, Dakota Rood, Tiffany Blodgett, Amber Johnson, Heather Rood, and Colton Rood. He has 10 great grandchildren; Pete Buirch and his wife Bree, Christopher Buirch, Alexander Stadler, Klara Stadler, Theodore Scott, Tucker Scott, Destiney Blodgett, Myrissa Bernhardt, Amy Beaudet, and Ally Beaudet. Bud was preceded in death by his son, Donald Blodgett, his brother, Nelson Blodgett, and his Grandson, Daniel Blodgett (Krysten). He is also survived by many brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces and nephews.
