Herbert Christian Overgard of Hernando, FL passed away at Vitas Hospice while surrounded by his loving family on February 24, 2020 at the age of 88. Herbert was born in Staten Island, NY to the late Christian and Liv (Dahl) Overgard on May 14, 1931.
On September 13, 1952 he married Dorothy Baldosoro with whom he shared 67 years of loving marriage. Prior to retirement, Herbert was employed by Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals. He and Dorothy made Citrus County their home 29 years ago after relocating from Flemington, NJ. A Christian by faith, Herbert was a member of the Calvary Church, Assembly of God in Inverness, FL. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and building.
Herbert was preceded in death by his son, Drew Overgard and grandson, Brian Overgard. In addition to his wife Dorothy, those left to mourn Herbert’s passing include his daughters: Darlyn Sesock and her husband Paul of Paducah, KY, Wendy Staub and her husband John of Northport, FL; daughter in law, Rhoda Overgard of Everett, PA; and grandchildren: Mick Overgard (Megan), Melanie Sliker (Skip), Jason Sesock, Christopher Sesock, Kimberly Sesock, Brittany Staub, Jennifer Staub, Erica Staub, Steven Staub and Kylie Staub; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Church, Assembly of God, 2728 E. Harley Street, Inverness, FL 34453 and will be conducted by Pastor Ottis Barnett. Friends may join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Vitas Healthcare of Lecanto, FL.
Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
