Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On

Kenneth V Beitz

Kenneth Vern Beitz, of Inverness, FL passed away on February 15th, 2020. Born to the late Elmer and Viora Beitz on April 19th, 1935 in Garden City, MI, Kenneth filled his 84 years of life with love, service and adventure. Kenneth bravely and honorably served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corp, followed by 35 years of work as a Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Ann Montgomery Beitz, in 1954 and together they had Gina M. Atkins, Pamela J. Worthing and Daniel K. Beitz. Kenneth is survived by his wife and children, as well as his sister Audrey Nevins; his five grandchildren, Stephanie, Angela, Eric, Steven and Shawn; and his ten great-grandchildren, Grace, Lucas, Alayna, Jackson, Kellan, June, Kaylin, Mac, Calleigh, and Jace. Kenneth was “Grandpa Red” and was adored and beloved by all his children and grandchildren. He shared his love for camping and the outdoors with them. He loved to ride roller coasters and take the family to theme parks. Grandpa Red was always, even as he aged, on the floor playing with grandkids and great-grandkids. He modeled for them what it meant to be a “good neighbor” and served those around him in any way he could, quietly and without need for recognition. In the simple moments between all his projects, travels or family gatherings, Kenneth could often be seen listening to his old country music with his dog Daisy in his lap. A Memorial Service will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors rendered by the Inverness VFW Post #4337 on Friday, June 19th, 2020 at 11:30 am, with a procession leading to the cemetery from the funeral home at 10:45 am. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
