Russell E. Doherty, Inverness, FL passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on January 30th, 2020 at the age of 66. He was born to the late William and Pauline (Elliot) Doherty on June 29th, 1953 in Winthrop, Massachusetts. Though formally from Massachusetts, he made Inverness, Florida his part-time home in 2018. He worked as a Mail Carrier for USPS for many years and bravely and honorably served in our United States Navy.
Along with his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Doherty, and his “brother from another mother”, Robbie Moschella. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda; his two sons, Brian Doherty and Jason Doherty, of Revere, Massachusetts; his brother, William Doherty and sister, Susan Rothwell. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Russell enjoyed being a member of the 27th Lancers Drum Corps and the IC Reveries. He loved music, especially Pink Floyd. He also liked going camping, traveling, playing golf, and visiting his second home here in Florida. He loved spending time with his dear family and friends and his parish is the Immaculate Conception Church in Revere, MA.
A Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Revere, Massachusetts at a later date. Russell will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA following his services at a later date. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
