Gerald Thomas Dennis LeVasseur of Inverness, FL, passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on January 15, 2020 at the age of 80. Gerald was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 9, 1939 to the late Bernard Raymond and Anna (Moran) LeVasseur. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was Catholic by faith. Gerald had many careers throughout his professional life and eventually retired after working for a number of years as a Student Counselor. On October 18, 1988 he married his wife Judy, with whom he shared 31 years of loving marriage. Gerald and Judy made Citrus County, FL their home in 2013 after relocating from Lockport, NY. He was a member of the American Legion and also Inverness VFW #4337.
In addition to his loving wife Judy, those left to mourn Gerald’s passing include his daughter, Jeanne LeVasseur; brother, Bernard LeVasseur; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the great many friends he made since moving to Florida. Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Paul LeVasseur.
A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
