JoAnn Fern Burton, 81, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away at Life Care Center of Lecanto, FL on December 31st, 2019. She was born to the late George and Fern Coslet on August 12th, 1938 in Porter, IN. JoAnn was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her big family. She married Robert Burton in June of 1960. Formally from LaPorte, IN, she relocated four and a half years ago to reside in beautiful Beverly Hills, FL.
JoAnn enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, and, after moving to Florida, swimming and dancing in the pool all day long while listing to music with her daughters. She will be remembered by her family as being a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and she loved spending time with all of her family and friends. Before moving to Florida, she loved attending Porter United Methodist Church and remembered her beloved church and her church family fondly.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her three sons, Jackie Burton, Ricky LaHayne, and Scott Holdren; her brother, Lynn G. Coslet; her two sisters, Judith L. Rumbut and Jerilyn Esslinger; and her two granddaughters, Melissa and Christina.
She is survived by her six daughters, Cindy (Danny) Smyth of Beverly Hills, FL; Judy (Antonio) Reales of Chesterton, IN; Shelley (Keith) Hale of Valparaiso, IN; Susan (Troy) Deso of Valparaiso, IN; Stacey (Mark) Schultz of Valparaiso; and Melissa (Keith) Mackey of Portage, IN; her grandchildren, Richard, Christopher, Joshua, Katie, Ellie, Nicole, Amanda, Cooper, Jordan, Trisha, Dawnie, Jackie, Joshua, and Hushton; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held in Indiana with her family at a later date. Cremation with Care by Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
