Roger Dale Adams, 75, Hernando, FL passed away June 11, 2019 at the Vitas Hospice Facility in Lecanto, FL. Roger was born in Omar, WV on March 27, 1944 to the late Raymond and Edna (Messer) Adams and came to Citrus County in 2012 from Muncie, IN. He was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving his country in Vietnam, with a rank of E5. Roger retired in 1999 after 30 years with General Motors.
Roger believed Jesus is the Son of God, that God is the All Mighty and when asked who he wanted to see when he got to heaven, he replied, “Jesus”. His favorite hymns were The Lord’s Prayer, In The Garden, Amazing Grace and Just As I Am. He enjoyed bowling, playing guitar, gardening, boxing, home building, refrigeration repair, and listening to wife sing at karaoke.
Loving husband and father, with a heart of gold, who provided everything that was needed or wanted. He was someone we could bring our troubles to and he turned those troubles into joy. He was someone we could depend on and he made us feel safe.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melody (Kennedy) Adams, Hernando, FL; sisters: Nan Simpson, Debbie Livingston (Tom), and Pam Hanlon (Jim); sons, Jeffrey (Andrea), Chandler (fiancée Masha); grandson, Ethan and several nieces and nephews that will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Adams and sister, Donna Justice. Donations in Roger’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
Following a private family service, cremation care was provided by Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
